Books for Curious Kids

I believe that leaders read and starting the practice of reading young is an advantage.

Reading at an early age allows children to learn about other people, other parts of the world, and themselves. They also learn empathy, and engage their curiosity, which is a way for them to continue to show up in the world with openness and a penchant to learn and discover.

Books for Curious Kids helps kids discover new books to love and for them to share their favorite books with me. This is also for their parents and those that love them. The primary focus will be on picture books, as art is another access point to seeing the world through different filters and different perspectives.

Charlotte’s Web was published on this day in 1952. It’s a story of an unlikely friendship between Wilbur the pig and Charlotte A. Cavatica- an extraordinary spider. Their friendship even inspires Templeton the rat to pitch in to save the day. Beautifully written by E.B. White and illustrated by Garth Williams- it is a wonderful chapter book to read together. I consider it a beloved and old friend. Do you have a favorite memory of Charlotte’s Web?
